Wanted to get these posted before I go paint a door. Yup. My black and white kick seems to be back.

Yes, it is weird. But it is fun!

Just for you people who are none to fond of black and whites.

animals and the new yellow room

Quite a few pictures this time so I’m prefacing them. We had a beautiful day on the fourth so I took the opportunity to get the camera out a bit. Saturday was cool and rainy, so I was able to get the yellow room all primed. Below are updated images on how that project is coming along.

Another picture. I have had this one edited for quite a while, just sitting in a folder. There are more, but they need some more work. Anyway, enjoy!

Quite a startling day indeed. Two posts in one day! But now I’m tired, so you get pictures but no subtitles. Maybe later.

sliders

The word “slider” always makes me think of baseball. For being such a slow game it has some of the coolest words. For example: knuckleball, slider, curveball, and submarine pitch. I digress. Here are a couple of new sliders made for the bank’s website.

And there was a beautiful sunset last night. Hopefully I will get a picture or two from it up pretty quickly [this year].

srsly googel?

So I’m going through my morning routine and I pull up Chrome to check my email. Now, you have to understand, I have google.com set to be my home page because it is simple, clean, and loads fast. Okay, moving on. I open Chrome, and google.com pops up to this

Google

Seriously, Google? Really?

Oh, and here’s the kicker, there no way to take it off. C’mon, Google, if I want to use Bing, I’ll use Bing. At the very least give me a decent picture.

CS5 and HDR

hiwasse HDR

I know I made a passing comment about this is my last post, but I thought it warranted another post. The HDR script in CS5 is a lot better, and it seems [reasonably so] that the more source pictures you have, the better the result. The picture above is the result of six pictures, whereas the chicken house picture in my previous post only used three with widely varying exposures. I adjusted the curves just a bit, but this is very similar to how it looked that day. The lighting was harsh and the sky was bright blue. Definitely a sunglasses kind of day.

New outdated pictures!

CHmay

The shot above I have had since May of last year. I never could get the HDR thing to work out properly for me. CS5’s HDR script is much better, though far from perfect, so I finally get to post it! The pictures below are from a “raising the roof” project. It’s almost completed now so I’ll have to get some more pictures up sometime. Don’t hold your breath.

So … I am a little behind. meh. Anyway, a comment from a good friend nudged me into posting again. The two images above are old doodles that I uploaded in December, but never got around to writing a post for. Below are some photos from the past four months. Yes, it has been that long.

Schooled

Old School

Exhibit A: An evolutionary step from IOUs to modern day checks.

I totally got schooled today. A history lesson in old-fashioned, community banking. See that image above? Yes, that is an old, blank check. Evidently businesses around town used to have stacks of these that any customer of Bank of Gravett could use. No account number at all. According to the more experienced tellers, your name was all you needed. Kind of amazing the amount of trust folks had in each other back then.

oOo, and check out the awesome “R” of the typeface.
